When I was a home schooling mom, I became enthusiastic about using historical fiction to complement our history studies. I started to create my own reading lists for different historical periods. I found many different sources for book candidates, but wished there was a single consolidated searchable database of historical fiction for young readers. So I created one. Because geography is an important component of history, I thought it would be fun to visually display the books by location markers on a map. This website, an ongoing work in progress, is a result of my efforts to create the user experience I wish I had when I was home schooling.
