Librarian's Review
Omakayas is married and has twin boys, Chickadee and Makoons, eight years old. Four generations of her family have made a nice life for themselves in Lake of the Woods, but while at their annual maple sap gathering Chickadee is kidnapped! So begins the westward journey to Pembina, ND at the edge of the Great Plains, to find him. There is a nice map in my edition that shows the various (real) locations.
